Baku: President Ilham Aliyev announced that the trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan has seen rapid development in recent years. In 2025, the trade turnover between the two countries increased more than threefold, reaching USD 795 million compared to the previous year, as stated in an interview with the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA).

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev described the growth as an excellent indicator of the strengthening relationship between the two nations. Furthermore, he highlighted that in the period from January to May 2026, the trade turnover further grew by 33 percent compared to the same period in the previous year, amounting to USD 144 million.
