Baku: President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan has expressed the country's ambition to expand its energy exports, particularly electricity, to Europe. In a recent interview with Azerbaijan Television, conducted in Nakhchivan, President Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan's strong energy infrastructure, which includes oil, gas, and electricity.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan is uniquely positioned in the region with its comprehensive energy supply. He stated, "In our region, there is no other country as comprehensively supplied with energy as we are, whether in terms of oil and gas or electricity." The President outlined plans to enhance export capabilities to neighboring countries, with the ultimate goal of penetrating the European market.
Azerbaijan has already established a presence in Europe with its oil and gas exports. President Aliyev now aims to extend this reach to electricity, further integrating Azerbaijan into the European energy grid. This strategic move is expected to strengthen Azerbaijan's role as a key energy supplier on the international stage.
