Moscow: “Regional issues, including the normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, were discussed at the meeting of the Russian and Armenian foreign ministers,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a joint press conference following his talks with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Moscow is ready to assist Yerevan and Baku, if they are interested, in all areas of normalization of relations, including the development of the provisions of a peace treaty, the delimitation and demarcation of borders, and the opening of economic and transport communications in the region. Lavrov emphasized Russia’s readiness to assist Armenia and Azerbaijan in humanitarian issues as well.
Lavrov also mentioned at the meeting that they confirmed their interest in the future activities of the 3+3 regional cooperation format. This cooperation involves the three South Caucasus countries and their three neighbors: Russia, Iran, and Trkiye. Lavrov expressed optimism about the potential of this platform, describing it as very promising.
