Session for Diplomatic Corps Held Regarding WUF13 in Baku

Baku: A hybrid briefing session was held for representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with the 13th session of the United Nations (UN) World Urban Forum (WUF13), which Baku will host in 2026, APA reports. Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and national coordinator of WUF13; Adil Mammadov, Executive Director of the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operations Company; and Edlam Yemeru, Director of the External Relations, Strategy, Knowledge and Innovation Division of UN-Habitat were present at the briefing session on the forum.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a video address by UN-Habitat Executive Director Anaklaudia Rossbach was also presented. About 100 diplomats, including senior representatives of diplomatic missions operating in Azerbaijan, participated in the interactive session organized in a hybrid format. The session focused on the upcoming event scheduled for May 17-22, 2026, under the theme ‘Housing for All: Safe and Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements.’

The session continued in a question-and-answer and open discussion format, allowing for an exchange of ideas and clarifications regarding the planning and execution of WUF13 in Baku.
