Khankendi: Shusha is set to undergo a significant transformation over the next two years with a planned complete reconstruction of its street and road network. This announcement was made by Aydin Karimov, the President’s Special Representative in Shusha, during the III Azerbaijan National Urban Planning Forum (NUFA3) held in Khankendi.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Karimov highlighted that Shusha currently stands as the only city in Azerbaijan with a fully electric public transport system, and efforts are ongoing to maintain and expand this initiative. The reconstruction plan includes the construction of all communication lines using a modern engineering network, integrating the new infrastructure with the city’s historical and cultural landscape.

Karimov emphasized that the ongoing work is being implemented systematically and with caution, considering the historical monuments and existing infrastructure elements that impact the project’s progression. Shusha holds great historical significance for Azerbaijanis, with its valuable monuments and cultural heritage, which is why the development work is meticulously planned to preserve its unique character.
