SOFAZ’s Investment Revenues Reach Level of Oil Income

Baku: “Currently, investment revenues of State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) reached the level of oil revenues,” said Vadim Pshenichny, the Director of the Risk Management Department of the Fund, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, as SOFAZ’s oil revenues increased, the proportion of riskier assets in the portfolio was also able to grow. This strategic shift in investment policy has allowed the fund to diversify its portfolio, aiming for higher returns while managing associated risks effectively.

“In this regard, in recent years, our investment revenues have not only allowed us to fulfill budgetary obligations but also enabled us to have a portfolio with higher potential returns. Over the past 25 years, the Fund’s investment revenues have reached 14.9 billion US dollars,” the department director added. This significant milestone underscores the fund’s strategic focus on optimizing investment returns while maintaining fiscal discipline.
