Speakers of Azerbaijani and Turkish Parliaments Emphasize Strategic Alliance

Baku: Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Trkiye (TBMM) Numan Kurtulmus on the sidelines of the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Baku, the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis told APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the meeting, both parties expressed satisfaction with the high-level development of brotherly and allied relations between Azerbaijan and Trkiye in all areas. It was emphasized that the two countries continue to demonstrate solidarity and mutual support on all issues, guided by National Leader Heydar Aliyev's principle of 'One nation, two states.'

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova noted that the bilateral relations have reached their highest level due to the brotherly ties based on mutual respect and trust between Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as well as their political will and determination.

The meeting also highlighted the important role of parliaments in further expanding bilateral relations. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of interparliamentary cooperation. Numan Kurtulmus recalled his earlier meeting with President Ilham Aliyev and shared his positive impressions of the talks.

Numan Kurtulmus shared information about the meeting on X, stating that they reaffirmed their determination to further strengthen the strategic alliance between Azerbaijan and Trkiye in all directions, in line with the Shusha Declaration. The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
