BAKU—Hamas has declared that recent ceasefire negotiations in Qatar, aimed at halting the conflict in the Gaza Strip and securing the release of hostages, have not made any progress. This was confirmed by Ahmed Abdel Hadi, Hamas’s representative in Lebanon, according to a report by Trend.
According to Trend News Agency, the talks did not yield the optimistic results anticipated by U.S. President Joe Biden. “The Biden administration is trying to show that the situation is favorable. But the first round showed no improvement,” Hadi stated. He further mentioned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s additional conditions have complicated the negotiations, making it difficult to resolve contentious issues.
