Strasbourg: An event marking the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty”, organized by the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Council of Europe, was held at the University of Strasbourg. The event was attended by Azerbaijani students and graduates studying at the University of Strasbourg, as well as representatives of the Azerbaijani community.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, Ambassador Fakhraddin Ismayilov, addressed the event and highlighted the importance of the first constitution of independent Azerbaijan. This constitution was prepared and adopted by the commission chaired by National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The Ambassador also emphasized the victory of the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, in the Patriotic War. He noted that the successful anti-terrorist operation carried out on September 19-20, 2023, was instrumental in realizing the country’s intentions.
