Sweden Sharpens Focus on Azerbaijani Economy with Significant Investment Surge

Baku: Sweden’s direct investments in the Azerbaijani economy have experienced a substantial increase, reaching $18.682 million in the first quarter of 2025.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this figure marks a 74-fold rise or an additional $18.431 million compared to the same period in the previous year.

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan reported that during this period, Azerbaijan’s direct investments into foreign economies amounted to $315.116 million. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan attracted $1.519 billion in direct foreign investments. Investments originating from Sweden constituted 1.2% of the total foreign direct investment received by Azerbaijan, highlighting Sweden’s growing economic interest in the nation.
