Tajikistan Supports Azerbaijan’s Leadership in Regional Meeting

Baku:Tajik President Emomali Rahmon expressed full support for Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. This statement was made during the opening ceremony of the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Central Asia.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Rahmon assured that Tajikistan is prepared to back Azerbaijan's constructive proposals and to aid in the practical realization of the agreements made. He expressed confidence that the mutual trust and good-neighborly relations shared by the nations will facilitate steady progress towards common objectives. He congratulated Azerbaijan on its new role and reiterated Tajikistan's commitment to providing full support.

President Rahmon emphasized the significance of enhancing cooperation in cybersecurity, expanding the exchange of information and practical experiences, and developing skilled professionals.

He also highlighted the ongoing efforts in cultural and humanitarian cooperation, specifically in translating literary, historical, and cultural works.

Additionally, President Rahmon stressed the importance of addressing environmental issues, including climate change, glacier melting, desertification, biodiversity preservation, and the development of national parks through collaborative efforts.
