The second day of the European Judo Championship was held in Lisbon, Portugal.
AZERTAC reports that on the second day of the Tokyo 2020 license competition, two of our athletes joined the fight, but finished their performances early. Thus, Hidayat Heydarov, who competes in the men’s 81 kg weight category, defeated Niklas Bloch of Germany in the sixteenth final, but lost to Matthias Kassey of Belgium in the next round. Murad Fatiyev, who competed with him in the same weight category, lost in the first match against Vedat Albayrak from Turkey.
It should be noted that on the first day of the tournament, Karamat Huseynov, who competed in the weight category of 60 kg, won a bronze medal.
More than 300 athletes from 45 countries are competing in the continental championship. Azerbaijan is represented by 9 athletes.
