Baku: Three more individuals who had been placed on an international wanted list have been extradited to Azerbaijan, APA reports, citing the Press Service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the extradition follows the requirements of the Convention dated October 7, 2002, 'On Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters.' The Prosecutor General's Office had submitted motions regarding the extradition of Azerbaijani citizens Ruad Yashar Mammadov, Khayal Rasim Asgarov, and Zaur Ayyub Ayyubov, which were granted by the Prosecutor General's Offices of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan, respectively.

Ruad Yashar Mammadov and Khayal Rasim Asgarov faced indictments as accused persons, based on well-grounded suspicions of committing fraud that caused significant financial damage. After absconding from the preliminary investigation, they were placed on an international wanted list. The individuals were apprehended in the Russian Federation and, under the escort of a special convoy from the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice, were transferred back to Azerbaijan.

In another case, Zaur Ayyub Ayyubov was charged with theft causing substantial financial damage and was placed on an international wanted list after fleeing from court proceedings in the Yasamal District Court. He was detained in Kazakhstan and similarly escorted back to Azerbaijan under the custody of the Penitentiary Service.
