TotalEnergies to Utilize Shah Deniz Infrastructure for Absheron Condensate Processing

Baku: The condensate produced under the second phase of the Absheron gas-condensate field development will be processed through the existing infrastructure of the Shah Deniz project, Emmanuel de Guillebon, Country Chair of TotalEnergies in Azerbaijan, announced during the 'Upstream Sector - New Horizons' session at the Baku Energy Forum.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the decision to utilize existing infrastructure rather than investing in a new processing facility was made by the company to optimize resources. Emmanuel de Guillebon emphasized that the condensate will be sent to the Shah Deniz terminal for final processing, allowing for synergies between the projects and reducing capital expenditures.

Emmanuel de Guillebon further noted that TotalEnergies is collaborating with bp in various sectors to enhance the efficiency of existing capabilities in Azerbaijan. He highlighted the importance of utilizing current facilities, stating that if infrastructure already exists, building a new facility is unnecessary.

He also mentioned that TotalEnergies is exploring additional technical cooperation opportunities between the Absheron and Shah Deniz projects. These opportunities include laying subsea pipelines and the joint use of existing equipment, which could further streamline operations and enhance project efficiency.
