Baku: In the first half of this year, Azerbaijan experienced a noticeable rise in tourist visits from the United States, as 10,862 US citizens traveled to the country.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this figure represents an 18% increase compared to the same period last year.
The detailed data reveals a month-by-month breakdown of US tourists visiting Azerbaijan. In January, 1,069 US citizens visited, marking a 23.7% annual increase. February saw 924 visitors, an 11.5% rise compared to the previous year. In March, the number rose to 1,322, reflecting a 17.2% increase. April had 1,439 US visitors, up by 26.5% annually. May experienced an influx of 2,239 visitors, a 7.5% increase, and June saw 2,439 visitors, a 22.4% rise.
The annual figures also show a growth trend in recent years. In 2024, 22,927 US citizens visited Azerbaijan, marking a 35.1% increase from the prior year. In 2023, there were 16,971 US visitors, a 37.96% rise, while 2022 saw 12,301 visitors, a modest 2.8% increase. The year 2021 recorded 4,400 visitors, a significant 69.04% increase, while 2020 experienced a sharp decline with only 2,603 visitors, down by 86.12%. In 2019, the number of visitors was 18,759, marking a 7.2% increase from the previous year.
