Transportation of Oil by Sea in Azerbaijan Rises by Nearly 12%

Baku: Transportation of oil and oil products by sea in Azerbaijan has seen a significant increase of nearly 12% in the first half of this year. In this period, 2,246.6 thousand tons of oil and oil products were transported by sea, marking an 11.8% rise compared to the same period last year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the State Statistical Committee provided this information, highlighting that in January-June of the previous year, 2,009.3 thousand tons of oil and oil products were transported by sea in Azerbaijan. This increase reflects a substantial growth in the volume of oil and oil product transportation by sea.

In the first half of the current year, a total of 4,611.5 thousand tons of cargo were transported by sea in the country, which is an 11.8% increase. During this reporting period, oil cargoes constituted 48.7% of the total cargo transported by this mode of transport.
