Trkiye Promotes Urban Sustainability as a Global Model for Future Cities

Istanbul: Trkiye is advancing its urban sustainability model to the global level, focusing on resilient infrastructure and sustainable housing as a model for future cities and cultural development. The February 2023 earthquakes underscored the necessity for resilient urban infrastructure, prompting the country to launch its largest reconstruction effort to date. -mer Bulut, Trkiye's Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, highlighted these efforts during a ministerial roundtable at WUF13.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Bulut emphasized that Trkiye's approach extends beyond mere reconstruction. The country is committed to preparing its cities for the future by adopting a more resilient, sustainable, low-carbon, and climate-adapted model. The ongoing efforts focus on safe housing, robust infrastructure, energy efficiency, clean energy use, and integrating renewable energy into the housing sector.
