Kahramanmaras: The 'Azerbaijan neighborhood' reconstruction project in Trkiye's Kahramanmaras province was showcased at the Turkish Pavilion during the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13). In his remarks, Ahmet Kutlug Gayretli, Head of the Mass Housing Projects and Research Center Department of Trkiye, highlighted the operational commercial facilities, offices, gym, cultural center, and shopping mall in the "Azerbaijan neighborhood."
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the neighborhood, which also features a school named after Heydar Aliyev, is becoming one of Kahramanmaras's rapidly developing residential areas. The project included large-scale reconstruction efforts following an earthquake, constructing 1,223 residential buildings, 1,789 commercial facilities, 464 offices, a cultural center, and the Heydar Aliyev school under Trkiye's TOKI project.
The "Azerbaijani neighborhood" project is regarded as a model of modern urban planning and a symbol of brotherhood and solidarity between Azerbaijan and Trkiye. It is considered a significant step towards creating a sustainable and comfortable living environment in the earthquake-affected areas.
