Turkish Representative Calls for Accessible and Long-Term Climate Financing

Baku: 'There is a need for accessible and long-term climate financing, strong partnerships between countries, information exchange and the common determination of all parties,' Hseyn Namik Sandik§i, Head of the Energy Efficiency Department at Trkiye's Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, emphasized during a roundtable discussion at Baku Climate Action Week 2026 (BCAW 2026).

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Sandik§i highlighted the significant role buildings play in energy consumption and emissions within the global climate change context. He noted that they also form a crucial part of the solution, stating, 'In Trkiye, we have been working intensively for many years on the transformation of the building sector and improving legislation in this area.' Sandik§i outlined the ministry's efforts in carrying out a comprehensive transformation in the building sector, focusing on integrating life-cycle analysis into policy and restructuring the existing building stock for enhanced energy efficiency.

Sandik§i stressed the necessity of harnessing international cooperation to achieve transformation and energy transition in the building sector. He underscored the importance of mobilizing the full potential of such partnerships to facilitate these changes effectively.
