Seoul: Turkmenistan has actively participated in a key ministerial panel organized by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in Seoul, highlighting its commitment to green development and sustainable practices. The conference focused on the implementation of the Paris Agreement and advancing zero emissions goals.

According to Trend News Agency, the information came following the participation of Turkmenistan’s Deputy Minister of Environment, Nury Jumashov, who played a pivotal role in the discussions. In his address, Jumashov underscored Turkmenistan’s dedication to maintaining ecological balance and minimizing the industrial impact on the environment. He emphasized the significance of embracing clean technologies and the use of renewable energy sources to achieve these goals.

The deputy minister reiterated Turkistan’s adherence to the Paris Agreement and its support for the Global Methane Initiative. He also announced plans to establish a regional center for climate change technologies in Central Asia, t
o be spearheaded by Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdymukhamedov. This center aims to bolster regional cooperation in combating and adapting to climate change.

Furthermore, the Turkmen delegation engaged in a productive bilateral meeting with Ban Ki-moon, the president of the Global Green Growth Institute, on the same day. They explored potential collaborative projects in green technologies and sustainable forest management, setting the stage for future joint initiatives.
