Astara: The identities of the fishermen who went missing at sea in Astara have been identified, APA’s southern bureau reports. The missing individuals are Turan Hasanov, born in 1997, and Aghadede Hasanov, born in 1999, who are reportedly relatives.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the “112” hotline of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received initial information about two people missing in the Caspian Sea in the Astara district. Divers and rescuers from the Ministry’s State Service for Control over Small Vessels and Water Rescue were immediately dispatched to the area, and relevant agencies were notified. Search operations for the individuals presumed missing are currently underway.
Additional details emerged from local sources stating that the two missing persons are fishermen. Reports from APA’s southern bureau indicate that the incident occurred on the night of the previous day. The two fishermen set out to sea from the area near Shahaghaj village in Astara and did not return.
