Baku: UN-Habitat Executive Director Anacl¡udia Rossbach expressed her gratitude to the Azerbaijani government for the high-level organization of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) during the official closing press conference, APA reports. She highlighted the exceptional hospitality and leadership demonstrated throughout the event, making it a significant global gathering.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Rossbach emphasized the forum's role as a crucial international platform for collective action towards the future of cities. The event saw participation from over 57,000 individuals from 176 countries, including more than 2,000 online attendees. Notably, 55% of the participants were women and girls.
The forum was attended by 11 heads of state, 9 high-level guests, 88 ministers, 76 deputy ministers, and 130 mayors. A total of 579 sessions were conducted during the forum, showcasing the depth and breadth of discussions on urban issues.
The 'Urban Expo' exhibition at the forum featured 260 exhibitors, innovators, and solution providers, attracting over 74,000 visits. Additionally, 865 media representatives were accredited to cover the event, underscoring the widespread interest and need for urban solutions. Rossbach highlighted the importance of cities requiring solutions and the partners' commitment to meeting those needs.
