Moscow: Today at 04:06 Moscow time, an unmanned boat attack targeted the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) Marine Terminal, resulting in significant damage to the CPC’s VPU-2 remote bridge installation.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the attack led to the suspension of loading and other operations, following instructions from the captain of the Novorossiysk seaport. Tankers were removed from the CPC water area as a precaution. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among CPC employees and contractors during the incident.
At the time of the explosion, emergency protection systems of the VPU were activated, ensuring the shutdown of relevant pipelines. Preliminary information indicates there was no oil leakage into the Black Sea water area.
