WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has reported the successful neutralization of a Houthi drone in Yemen, highlighting the ongoing military responses to the threats in the region. This action comes amidst heightened tensions following escalations in the Gaza Strip.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the operation took place in a Houthi-controlled area and involved destroying an Iranian-backed uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV). This development follows warnings from the Houthis about potential strikes against Israeli territory and threats to commercial shipping in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, in retaliation for Israeli military actions in Gaza against the militant group Hamas. Since mid-November, numerous civilian vessels have reportedly been targeted by the Houthis in the region’s maritime routes.
