Baku: Cooperation with Azerbaijan is important for the development of the business environment, said Timur Khusanov, Director of the Department for Analysis, Support, and Coordination of State Policy on Small and Medium Business Development at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan. He made this statement during the presentation of the Asian Development Bank’s ‘Asia Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Monitor 2025’ (ASM 2025) report held in Baku.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Khusanov emphasized the significance of infrastructure development and regional connectivity for Uzbekistan, highlighting the role of collaboration with Azerbaijan. He noted that connectivity, including road maps, railway, and highway projects, is crucial for the country, and cooperation with Azerbaijan is integral to achieving quality infrastructure for businesses.

Khusanov further elaborated that stable economic growth and strengthened infrastructure are vital for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Uzbekistan. He pointed out that the nation’s annual GDP growth surpasses 6 percent, providing a sustainable environment for entrepreneurship.

Additionally, he mentioned that Uzbekistan’s membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO) will enable the country to access foreign markets and enhance its economic integration, further benefiting its business landscape.
