Baku: "We must strengthen the unity of the Turkic world," declared Uzbekistan's Minister of Culture, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, during his speech at the International Congress titled "The First Turkological Congress: A Century of Scientific and Cultural Heritage". This event, held as part of Turkic World Week, commemorates the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Minister Nazarbekov highlighted the pressing need for unity in light of current global threats. He stressed that no nation is immune to these dangers, which necessitates collective action and solidarity. He elaborated on the significant changes occurring in international politics today and underscored the importance of organizing such meetings and congresses. Nazarbekov emphasized that it is crucial to understand and convey this necessity to today's youth and future generations as a paramount duty.

The minister pointed out that there are over 300 notable figures, scholars, and intellectuals in the history of the Turkic peoples whose contributions are being re-evaluated and studied during the period of independent statehood. He noted that Uzbek youth are becoming increasingly familiar with these figures, as extensive efforts are being made to promote this knowledge through organized congresses and meetings. These gatherings bring together scholars and intellectuals from across the Turkic world. Nazarbekov expressed his belief that the Turkic world will grow stronger through unity and will eventually secure its rightful place on the global stage, showcasing the friendship and brotherhood of the Turkic peoples to the world.
