Baku:A Vietnamese delegation led by Nguyen Ngoc Ha, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam's Communist Review journal, recently visited the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC).
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, discussions during the visit centered around the friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the AZERTAC Board, Vugar Aliyev.
The historical foundations of Azerbaijan-Vietnam relations were highlighted, tracing back to the visits of Vietnam's first President Ho Chi Minh to Azerbaijan in 1959 and National Leader Heydar Aliyev to Vietnam in 1983. These visits paved the way for numerous Vietnamese students to pursue their studies in Azerbaijan in later years.
Vugar Aliyev noted that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Vietnam continues to develop successfully in various sectors, including media. A new Cooperation Agreement was signed between AZERTAC and Vietnam's VNA agency in Baku in May 2025. Both agencies also collaborate within international organizations such as the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) and the World Congress of News Agencies.
Nguyen Ngoc Ha expressed gratitude for the support provided by Azerbaijan and acknowledged the historical ties between the two nations. The delegation also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the activities of AZERTAC's newsrooms.
