Baku: In January-September 2025, 10,555.6 thousand tons of cargo were transported by rail, 8,008.8 thousand tons by road, and 5,589.7 thousand tons by sea in the transport corridors passing through the territory of Azerbaijan, the State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the volume of cargo transported through the East-West transport corridor was 12,615 thousand tons. This includes 6,117.1 thousand tons through the Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor, 6,719.7 thousand tons through the North-South transport corridor, 4,416.7 thousand tons through the North-West transport corridor, and 402.7 thousand tons through the South-West transport corridor.
The information further reveals that transit cargo accounted for 46 percent of the cargo transported by rail, 41.9 percent of the cargo transported by road, and 94.7 percent of the cargo transported by sea.
