Volume of Freight Transportation Increases in Kyrgyzstan.


Bishkek: The volume of cargo transported by all types of transport from January through September of the current year in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 38.124 million tons. According to Trend News Agency, data obtained from the country’s National Statistics Committee shows that this indicator increased by 2.3 million tons, or 7.4 percent, compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, cargo transportation increased by 1.3 percent in September compared to the same month last year, and its volume increased by 18 percent compared to the previous month. Of the total volume of cargo transportation, 31.489 million tons were transported by road, 6.344 million tons by rail, 269,300 tons by pipelines, and 20,900 tons by air transport.

To note, the volume of cargo turnover by all types of transport in Kyrgyzstan for the reporting period amounted to 2.174 billion ton-kilometers, which is 6.2 percent more compared from January through September of the last year.
