Tehran: Iran’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, Abdulnasir Hemmati, has announced that the country plans to impose import duties on iPhone mobile phones at approximately 30 percent. This decision is part of a broader move to regulate the import of such devices, aligning with duties applied to other mobile phone brands.
According to Trend News Agency, the Iranian minister indicated that the Cabinet is set to revise the current duty structure concerning the import of iPhones. This move comes in the wake of a previous ban on importing Apple’s iPhone 14 and higher models, which was established last year. The ban was recently lifted by the Iranian Cabinet, which instead imposed a substantial customs duty of 96 percent on October 30. The new decision to adjust the import duty reflects a shift in Iran’s approach to handling imported mobile devices.
