Ankara: In January of this year, 16,125 thousand barrels of oil were transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline through Turkish territory, marking an 8.23% decrease compared to the previous year.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Trkiye's pipeline transport operator BOTAS reported that in January 2025, the volume of oil transported via the BTC pipeline through Trkiye was 17,571 thousand barrels, indicating a significant volume of oil transit through the region. Last year, the total volume of oil transported through Turkish territory via the BTC pipeline was 206,434 thousand barrels, which reflected a 7.9% decline from the previous year.
The BTC pipeline is a crucial channel for transporting oil produced from Azerbaijan's Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) fields. Additionally, it facilitates the shipment of oil from other producers to Trkiye, playing a vital role in the regional oil supply chain.
