Baku: Digital skills and access to digital services have improved significantly in Azerbaijan over the past five years, stated Steffi Stallmeister, World Bank Country Manager for Azerbaijan, Europe and Central Asia, during a panel discussion at the ‘StrategEast: Eurasian Forum on Government and IT’ held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Stallmeister emphasized the existence of a digital gender gap in Azerbaijan. She pointed out a 7 percentage point difference between women and men using the Internet in the country. Additionally, Stallmeister highlighted a 5 percentage point disparity in digital literacy between genders. She noted that this issue is not unique to Azerbaijan but is a challenge faced by many countries globally, stressing the importance of addressing it.
