Baku: The measures implemented by the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA) to prevent African horse sickness (AHS) have been highly assessed. Azerbaijan's status as a country free of African horse sickness has been confirmed by the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH).
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, throughout the current year, monitoring and control measures for African horse sickness were carried out, and based on the collected data, relevant reports were submitted to the WOAH. As a result of the work performed, WOAH has confirmed Azerbaijan's existing status as a country free of African horse sickness for 2025, valid until the submission of the next report at the end of 2026.
'Veterinary control measures for particularly dangerous animal diseases are continuing,' the agency said.
