Baku: Another round of traffic movement monitoring will be conducted in Baku as part of the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which is set to take place from May 17-22, 2026. The WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company informed APA that this initiative aims to ensure the safe and efficient management of traffic flow during the event.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, temporary traffic regulations will be enforced on several streets and avenues in Baku from 10:00 to 14:00 on May 13 as part of this monitoring effort. The areas affected include Neftchilar Avenue, Yusif Safarov Street, parts of Heydar Aliyev Avenue (up to the Sabunchu bridge), Mehdi Huseyn Street, Khojali Avenue, Richard Sorge Street, Zarifa Aliyeva Street, Lermontov Street, and routes leading to the Baku Olympic Stadium, the event venue.
Drivers and other road users are advised to plan their trips in advance on the specified date, consider possible congestion, and utilize alternative routes. The H1 express bus route, connecting Heydar Aliyev International Airport with the city center, will maintain its regular operations without interruption. Meanwhile, private vehicles and taxis can access the airport area via alternative roads, though it is recommended to plan trips ahead to avoid potential delays.
Traffic movement monitoring has been successfully implemented in Azerbaijan in preparation for numerous global events over the past decade, demonstrating the country's commitment to efficient transportation management during significant international gatherings.
