Baku: The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, engaged in discussions with Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, the Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who is visiting Azerbaijan. The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to enhance military cooperation and address regional security concerns.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Iranian delegation first paid homage at the Alley of Shehids, honoring those who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan's independence and territorial integrity. A wreath was placed at the Eternal Flame monument in a mark of respect.

The official welcoming ceremony at the Ministry of Defense featured a guard of honor and the national anthems of both countries, followed by the signing of the Book of Honor. Colonel General Hasanov emphasized the deep-rooted historical ties between Azerbaijan and Iran, noting that mutual visits and joint exercises play a significant role in strengthening these relations.

Brigadier General Nasirzadeh highlighted the importance of the friendly and brotherly relations between the two nations, particularly in the military domain. The meeting covered discussions on the current state and future prospects of collaboration in military, military-technical, military education, and science fields.

The discussions also included a comprehensive exchange of views on regional security and other mutual interests, signaling a shared commitment to furthering cooperation on these fronts.
