Azerbaijan and Malaysia Discuss Future Cooperation as Ambassador’s Term Ends

Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Malaysian Ambassador Ahmad Kamrizamil Bin Mohd Riza on June 19, marking the conclusion of the ambassador's diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan. The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss the current state and future prospects of the friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Malaysia.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions emphasized the importance of developing political dialogue, intensifying mutual visits and contacts, and expanding trade and economic relations. Both sides agreed on the need to promote cooperation in energy, education, tourism, humanitarian affairs, and culture. The meeting also covered the collaboration between the two countries within international organizations.

The officials underlined the significance of ongoing cooperation within the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and other multilateral platforms. They also noted the importance of upcoming events such as the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) summit and the Islamic Summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, both scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan. These events are expected to further enhance cooperation between Azerbaijan and Malaysia.

Additionally, the meeting provided a platform for exchanging views on the post-conflict situation in the region, the Azerbaijan-Armenia reconciliation process, and prospects for regional cooperation. Other regional and international issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
