Azerbaijan Proposes Micro-Mobility Lanes for Baku’s Nizami Street

BAKU: A new initiative by the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency aims to introduce micro-mobility lanes along Nizami Street in Baku, enhancing urban transport options and maintaining existing traffic flow.

According to Trend News Agency, the proposal was unveiled during a public hearing conducted by the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency. The plan involves setting up dedicated lanes and parking spaces for micro-mobility vehicles, such as bicycles and electric scooters, on one of Baku’s key thoroughfares. This initiative is part of a broader effort to adapt the city’s infrastructure to evolving transportation trends and improve accessibility.

The proposed micro-mobility lanes will stretch from the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street to Kovkab Safaraliyeva Street. The agency has assured that the implementation of these lanes will not reduce the current number of traffic lanes, as the new lanes will be added according to standard traffic management protocols.

This project underscores the Azerbaijan Land Tran
sport Agency’s commitment to regularly engaging with the public on new developments, as evidenced by their routine organization of public hearings.
