VIENTIANE – An Azerbaijani delegation is currently in Laos to engage in discussions aimed at enhancing global mine action efforts.
According to Trend News Agency, reporting via the Azerbaijani National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), the delegation’s visit includes meetings with key Lao officials such as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith, and Bonphang Sisavats, Acting Director of the Lao National Regulatory Authority for Combating Mine Threats. The discussions focus on sharing experiences and strategies for addressing the threats posed by landmines and unexploded ordnance, which remain a significant challenge in both countries. The meetings aim to foster international collaboration and knowledge exchange to improve mine clearance techniques and safety protocols.
