Ankara: An international experience exchange program titled 'Turkic Restoration and Conservation Laboratories Network' was recently held, initiated by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and hosted by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Azerbaijan was represented by its Ministry of Culture, the State Tourism Agency, and the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of the National Academy of Sciences. Notably, Jeyhun Eminli, a leading researcher with a PhD in History from the Institute, also attended the event.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the project, featuring the cities of Ankara and Istanbul, aims to share Trkiye's advanced technical experience in archaeometry, restoration, and the protection of material and cultural monuments, including underwater archaeology, with participating countries. Furthermore, it seeks to expand cooperation towards the joint protection of Turkic heritage. Experts and researchers from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Trkiye, Uzbekistan, Hungary, and Turkmenistan were introduced to significant scientific centers, such as the Ankara Regional Restoration and Conservation Laboratory, Istanbul University Yenikapi Shipwrecks Application and Research Laboratory, and T€¦‚¬Å“BITAK Marmara Research Center.
The program concluded with a ceremony at the historic Hekimbasi Hunting Pavilion in the €¦‚¬Å“mraniye district. The closing event saw participation from notable figures, including Professor Aktoty Raimkulova, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation; Nabi Avci, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Turkic World Foundation; and G¶khan Yazgi, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism. The participants received certificates at the conclusion of the event.
