BAKU — Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day, highlighting the strong bilateral relations between the two countries and reiterating support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, according to the Azerbaijan Press Agency (APA).
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev expressed heartfelt congratulations to President Zelensky and the Ukrainian people, emphasizing the deep-rooted friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine. The letter detailed Azerbaijan’s appreciation for the mutual trust and effective collaboration in various sectors, especially in energy, and praised the ongoing support on issues of territorial integrity and sovereignty in line with United Nations norms.
President Aliyev also recounted the value of recent discussions held in the United Kingdom, expressing optimism for the future of Azerbaijani-Ukrainian relations. He extended wishes for health, happiness, and peace to the people of Ukraine on their national holiday.
