Azerbaijan’s Emergency Ministry Conducts 36-Hour Training for International Humanitarian Operations


BAKU — The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of the Republic of Azerbaijan has conducted an intensive 36-hour tactical-special training exercise to prepare its International Search and Rescue Team for international humanitarian operations.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the training took place in the Trkan and Hövsan settlements of the capital. The primary objectives were to drill the team in response activities to alarm signals, conduct a simulated “disaster area” march, and enhance their knowledge and skills in planning and executing humanitarian operations. The training was based on guidelines set by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) and the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG).



The MES’s training is part of its ongoing efforts to ensure readiness for participation in international humanitarian missions, adhering to global standards for search and rescue operations.
