Baku – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has accused the European Union of interfering in the reintegration of Armenian residents in the Garabagh region back into Azerbaijan. According to APA, Aykhan Hajizada, the spokesperson for the Ministry, commented on statements made by Peter Stano, the Lead spokesperson for external affairs of the European Union.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Hajizada criticized Stano’s proposal to create an international mechanism for the rights and security of Armenian residents, considering it an intrusion into Azerbaijan’s internal matters. He asserted that Garabagh is an inseparable part of Azerbaijan and assured that the rights and security of the Armenian residents in the region would be protected under Azerbaijan’s Constitution.
