Baku Hosts Conference on Family, Women, and Children’s Policies

Baku: On April 30, a conference on the theme "Sustainable development: family, women and children's policies" was held in Baku. The conference, organized by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan, addressed ways to strengthen the family institution in the sustainable development of society, increase the role of women in socio-economic life, and contribute to the improvement of state policy in the field of child protection.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the conference participants first watched a video highlighting the state policy concerning family, women, and children. In her opening remarks, Bahar Muradova, Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs, said that a policy centered on human capital has consistently evolved alongside the establishment and development of the independent Azerbaijani state over the past 30 years.

The committee chair emphasized the strategic course set by National Leader Heydar Aliyev is being successfully continued today under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. 'At the core of this strategy lies the human factor, which is manifested across all sectors of state policy,' she noted. Sabina Aliyeva, Azerbaijani Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman), mentioned that the adoption of the Law 'On the Rights of the Child' and related legislative acts this year is pivotal for the enhanced protection of children's rights.

Other speakers at the conference included Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education, and Anar Aliyev, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population. The panel on thematic discussions followed, offering a comprehensive analysis of the challenges and opportunities facing families, women, and children. The speakers highlighted the modern challenges families face due to globalization and the digital age, noting the importance of harmonizing tradition with current requirements.
