BAKU — Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), has accused France of obstructing discussions regarding the Comoros Union in international forums since 1995.

Abbasov revealed that France has consistently prevented deliberations on the occupation of Mayotte and other issues related to the Comoros Union across various international organizations. He emphasized that after 26 years of silence, BIG has brought these issues back into the spotlight, promoting resolutions through international bodies. Abbasov stated that BIG is dedicated to supporting the implementation of these resolutions and believes in the integral unity of Mayotte with the Comoros Union. He also noted that a memorandum is expected to be signed between BIG and the Maore Committee to address political, economic, healthcare, education, and other regional challenges.
