Baku: The Cabinet of Ministers has announced the temporary suspension of cargo truck movement across the Azerbaijan-Iran state border. This decision affects all border crossing points, including those used for transit cargo transportation.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the suspension follows attacks on March 5 targeting the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. These attacks, executed using unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iranian territory, struck civilian infrastructure, including Nakhchivan International Airport and a school. The attacks resulted in injuries to several civilians and damage to the airport's terminal building.
In light of these events, which the Cabinet of Ministers states are in violation of international law norms and principles, the decision was made to halt the movement of cargo trucks as a precautionary measure. The Cabinet aims to address the current situation while ensuring the safety and security of its citizens and infrastructure.
