Chinese Ambassador Highlights Xi Jinping and Trump’s Agreement on Managing Competition

Baku: In a recent statement, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Azerbaijan, Lu Mei, revealed significant discussions held between Chinese President Xi Jinping and former US President Donald Trump during Trump's state visit to China. The discussions centered on maintaining competition between the two nations within acceptable limits to foster global peace and development.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the ambassador emphasized that both leaders engaged in strategic dialogues on key issues affecting China-US relations. They reached agreements aimed at defining a framework for future interactions, termed as 'China-US relations of constructive strategic stability.' This framework seeks to guide bilateral relations positively through cooperation and manage competition without zero-sum thinking, where one nation's gain is viewed as another's loss.

The ambassador further elaborated on the importance of peaceful coexistence between the two countries, highlighting that conflict would be detrimental to both. Upholding the China-US Joint Communiqu©s and respecting each other's core interests and development paths are seen as vital components of this strategic stability. The approach is not merely rhetorical but a goal to be pursued through concrete actions, impacting the well-being of over 1.7 billion people in China and the US, and influencing the interests of more than eight billion globally.

Lu Mei underscored China's willingness to collaborate with the United States in implementing the agreements made by the two leaders. The aim is to explore effective interaction pathways between major powers, benefiting both nations' peoples and contributing to global peace and development.
