CMO: Hajj Pilgrimage to Proceed as Scheduled, First Flight Set for May 17

Baku: The Hajj pilgrimage is set to proceed as scheduled without any postponements, as confirmed by Vusal Jahangiri, the Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) and Head of the Hajj electronic system. In response to an inquiry from APA, Jahangiri stated that the pilgrimage date is fixed and remains unchanged despite ongoing events. He emphasized that there is nothing on the agenda related to the war affecting the pilgrimage process, and registration is continuing smoothly. No instances of people refusing to participate in the Hajj pilgrimage have been reported; rather, applications are being submitted daily.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Vusal Jahangiri announced that over 85% of the quota for this year's Hajj pilgrimage has been filled. The first flight carrying pilgrims is scheduled for May 17, with the initial group comprising 180 individuals. The upcoming 2026 Hajj season will see a pilgrimage package priced at $6,100 per person.

Prospective pilgrims are required to submit specific documents for the pilgrimage.
