Brussels: The filling level of underground gas storage facilities in European Union countries has fallen below 30%.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the total volume of gas currently stored in EU countries stands at nearly 33 billion cubic meters.
Since October 13 of last year, which marked the beginning of the heating season, European countries have withdrawn approximately 65 billion cubic meters of gas from storage facilities. This significant reduction highlights the impact of increased demand during colder months.
Additionally, since December 31, 2020, Azerbaijani gas has been transported to Europe via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), contributing to the gas supply in the region. The pipeline plays a critical role in diversifying energy sources and enhancing energy security for European Union countries.
