Baku: A high-level event focused on Strengthening Climate Information and Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems for Increased Resilience was conducted during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the event saw participation from international partner organizations involved in early warning systems, including the World Meteorological Organization, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, the International Telecommunication Union, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the Global Climate Fund, the UN Environment Programme, and the Asian Development Bank. Additionally, representatives from various leading organizations and scientific institutes were present.
The significance of early warning systems was underscored during the meeting, and the “Baku Climate Dialogue” initiative was promoted. It was noted that on October 28 of this year, the “Strengthening Climate Informat
ion and Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems for Increased Resilience” project received approval from the Global Climate Fund in Azerbaijan.
