Georgia: Georgia significantly increased its fuel imports from Azerbaijan in the first seven months of 2026. The country imported 90,100 tons of petroleum products valued at $88 million, representing a notable 131.1% increase compared to the same period last year.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, during the reporting period, Georgia imported a total of 1.05 million tons of petroleum products worth $967 million. This marks a 32.7% rise in value and an 8.7% increase in volume compared to the same timeframe in 2025.
The average value of imported fuel stood at approximately $917 per ton from January to July 2026, up from around $751 per ton during the same period in 2025, indicating a significant price increase.
Russia maintained its position as Georgia's largest fuel supplier in the period between January and July 2026, delivering 392,800 tons worth $292 million. Despite this, Russia's share reduced by 10.7% compared to the previous year, accounting for roughly 30% of the value and 37% of the volume of Georgia's total fuel imports.
Trkiye emerged as the second-largest supplier, providing 112,500 tons of fuel valued at $135 million, which is a substantial 153.9% increase from the same period last year.
Romania ranked third, supplying 139,400 tons of fuel worth $131 million. However, imports from Romania saw a slight decline in value by 1.4% compared to the same period in 2025.
